Journalism & Women Symposium is pleased to announce that experienced nonprofit manager and journalist Nicole June starts today as its new operations director.
Nicole brings more than a decade of experience in communications, nonprofit operations and on-the-ground newsroom work. She was the director of operations at Habitat for Humanity in Clarksville, Tenn., where she helped the organization grow its operational and fundraising capacities, planned events and directed the nonprofit’s housing program.
Before going into nonprofit work, Nicole was a journalist. She was digital editor for Clarksvillenow.com, a local digital news organization that served more than 300,000 daily viewers. She also has experience in radio broadcasting and community theater.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville and served in various community volunteer roles during her time there. She now lives in Hawaii with her husband, giant dog, and a new kitten. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading, hiking and beach days.
