JAWS 2022 Board of Directors Election Results
JAWS is excited to announce the newly elected members to the 2022-2023 Board of Directors: President-Elect Jhmira Alexander, returning Treasurer Joanna Hernandez, returning general board members Linda Jue and Suzanne Cosgrove, and new board members Jill Cornfield and Cirien Saadeh.

They join President Jennifer Kho, Secretary Tanya Gazdik and general Board members Amanda Crawford, Gwyneth Doland, Barbara Selvin and Nadine Arroyo Rodriguez.
We also thank outgoing board members for their service: Sonya Ross and Alison Bethel.
Their experience and expertise have helped to strengthen our organization and move it forward. Please join us in congratulating the new JAWS board members.

This year’s election of JAWS officers and new board members was conducted electronically during the month of August.The 2022-2023 board will continue JAWS’ ongoing efforts to build partnerships with other journalism organizations and bring together journalists, journalism educators and researchers to share resources, support, training and information about issues that affect women in our field.

About the JAWS Board
Any active member who has attended CAMP twice can run for a seat on the board. Officers and board members serve one- or two-year terms. All are elected by a vote of the membership. The primary responsibility of the Board of Directors is to ensure that the organization operates in a fashion true to its stated mission and principles.
The board provides continuity to the organization as individual members come and go. The board is entrusted with two duties: the group’s growth and future, and to further the group’s goals. It is responsible for setting policies, making decisions, delegating work and ensuring the decisions are carried out.
The board is legally responsible for governance of the organization and adherence to federal, state and local laws.
JAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit that supports the professional empowerment and personal growth of women in journalism and works toward a more accurate portrayal of the whole society.
