Honor a Special Woman This Mother's Day

JAWS is packed with inspiring women who are blazing journalistic trails — drawing on the strength, love, support and inspiration we’ve gotten from our mothers and from other women who’ve been our models and our mentors.

So for Mother’s Day, what better way to honor those women than to make a gift to JAWS — as part of this year’s 35 for 35 campaign?

Past president Katherine Ann Rowlands is kicking us off with a matching gift challenge: She’ll match every dollar you donate this week up to $3,000, doubling your donation.

Whether you give $35, $100, $350, or even more — your gift will count double in supporting our mentoring, training, networking and programming this year. Your dollars help us pay our amazing webinar speakers … fund free memberships for journalists out of work … plan regional in-person events to coincide with online CAMP … and so much more.

Just 30 gifts of $100 will unlock the full match!

Kat says:

“My mom, Diana, was my greatest fan when I started out in journalism, cheering every interview, story and headline as I went along. And she was especially proud when I got involved with JAWS and brought my own daughter, Chloe, along to CAMP to pick up on our amazing energy and learn from so many badass women. She would be so thrilled to see this organization thrive. This year I’m honoring her by donating to JAWS for Mother’s Day.”

We’ll send a personal note to whomever you choose to honor, letting her know you’ve donated in her name. Don’t forget to celebrate yourself — and all the ways you support and inspire other women in JAWS.

Since we wrote to you last, the JAWS’ past presidents have given $15,000 as part of a Presidents' Giving CircleAdd that to the other $17,200 donations we’ve gotten in our 35 for 35 campaign, and we need only $2,800 more to meet our $35,000 goal for the year. With Kat’s matching donation, let’s blow past our goal and raise $50,000 by CAMP!

With hope,

Mira Lowe, JAWS president
E.J. Graff, JAWS board member and fundraising chair

P.S. Please do join us in this campaign — and spread the word with #JAWSmom when you donate.
