Legacy Fund

The Legacy Fund was built from gifts of courage, action and commitment to the promise of JAWS.

The fund’s trustees develop initiatives that enrich the promise:

·      To advance inclusive journalism education and leadership

·      To honor women trailblazers in journalism

·      To ensure sustainable resources.

The fund, launched in 2014, combines endowments, memorial gifts and bequests honoring Joan Cook, Eileen Shanahan, Kay Mills and Betsy Wade, strong gutsy journalists and foundational directors of JAWS. The Fund continues to welcome donations. You can designate a gift by clicking the Legacy box.

Legacy’s current project is building the JAWS Living Archive in the National Women and Media Collection. The archive in the State Historical Society of Missouri preserves the unique JAWS story for students, scholars and our members. If you would like to donate your own JAWS records or your other personal material, go to the how-to-donate document.
