We are excited to announce that the 2019 Conference and Mentoring Project (CAMP) will take place from Sept. 20-22 in Williamsburg, Va. Cited by The New York Times as one of the 52 Places to Go in 2019, Williamsburg provides the opportune backdrop for this year’s conference theme: “Facing Our Past, Defining Our Future.”

We will explore our country’s historical roots through new narratives, by bringing you historians, journalists and others who are rethinking our history–no longer glossing over or ignoring our history of enslavement and colonization–but instead facing that past with honesty and looking to build a more inclusive future.

Our program will feature sessions around connect, learn and build, providing you ways to connect with other JAWS members in new ways, learn new tools in workshops and time to build new projects that will expand your careers. We also will have a number of activities to foster discussion, relationship building, and of course fun at CAMP.

This year, we’re offering a one-month SUPER Early rate. Register by May 31 to take advantage of a $50 discount off regular registration, and pay only $325 if you’re a member.

CAMP 2019 will take place at the Williamsburg Lodge, which offers a relaxing retreat in the heart of Williamsburg. Enjoy the two hotel restaurants, fitness center, pool, spa and more.

The JAWS conference room rate is $149 per night. Visit the hotel website or call (855)-231-7240.

Please check the CAMP 2019 website for updates on programming, hotel, travel and more.
