Our annual CAMP is the highlight of the year for Journalism and Women Symposium, and this fall will be no exception.
We have two dynamite keynote speakers, a terrific Fran Lewine interview, a fantastic Sunday morning plenary on implicit bias and plenty more super programming.
On those keynote speakers:
Nikole Hannah-Jones is making waves not just for her provocative reporting on race and segregation in the United States, but also for her founding of the Ida B. Wells Society, which aims to train investigative journalists of color. Can’t wait to hear what Nikole has to tell us about how we can continue to work toward a more accurate portrayal of the whole society.
Lynn Sweet is a longtime JAWS member who covers government and politics in Washington for the Chicago Sun-Times, frequently appearing on TV news shows to offer her take on what’s happening. Looking forward to her insights contrasting the Obama and Trump (and Bush and Clinton) administrations, and her advice on what journalists can do to improve our coverage of politics and government.
And Maureen Bunyan recently completed a storied career as a TV news anchor. Her conversation with JAWS members Linda Deutsch and Edie Lederer is sure to offer insight about how far we’ve come and how far we have to go in this profession.
With these three speakers and plenty more on the program, our Conference and Mentoring Program in Hot Springs, Ark., Oct. 27 to 29 is sure to be action-packed.
I urge you to take advantage of early registration, which ends July 15. And make your hotel reservations!
Get all the details on our CAMP page and register online today.
And get ready for a great weekend of learning, great relationships, advice and inspiration.
