Nesima Aberra is a recent graduate from American University’s M.A. in international media. She got her B.A. in journalism and B.A. in global studies from Arizona State University. She believes strongly in the power of narrative nonfiction, participatory storytelling and solutions journalism. Nesima is most interested in reporting on underrepresented communities, poverty, international affairs, social justice, gender and human interest stories.
Most recently, she interned at Vox.com in their First Person section, curating personal essays and conducting interviews for features. She wants to develop her multimedia skills and investigative experience to design engaging storytelling projects.
