Monica Vendituoli is the night crime and breaking news reporter at the Fayetteville Observer newspaper in Fayetteville, N.C. Vendituoli juggles covering car wrecks, fires, homicides and other mayhem with enterprise crime stories and general assignment work one day a week. In February of 2017, Vendituoli won an award for her profile of a local ministry dedicated to serving adult entertainers and she contributed to the entry that won her newsroom a North Carolina Press Association first place award for online breaking during Hurricane Matthew. Vendituoli previously covered crime and courts at a small daily newspaper in western North Carolina and held multiple internships in Washington, D.C. Vendituoli graduated with a degree in economics from Wheaton College in Massachusetts, though she always wanted to be a reporter.
