Mia Warren

Mia Warren is a production assistant for StoryCorps, working on its weekly NPR broadcast at StoryCorps headquarters in Brooklyn, N.Y. Warren records the incredible stories of everyday people — often folks rarely heard from in mainstream media — and amplify their voices for the public radio airwaves.

Before her passion for audio storytelling and oral history brought Warren to StoryCorps in 2015, she co-coordinated a PBS-funded youth media project in far west Texas and lived in Lima, Peru, where she documented stories in the Japanese Peruvian community. In the future, Warren wants to continue the work of empowering others to create their own narratives.

Warren’s hobbies include reading, hiking, and eating all kinds of spicy food. This summer, Warren is teaching herself to crochet and to play guitar and tennis. As the daughter of a Korean immigrant, she is particularly excited about stories within and across the Asian diaspora.
