June 2016: Support annual crowdfunding campaign for our fellows

October may be months away, but the JAWS board and staff are working tirelessly to ensure that our annual Conference and Mentoring Program, aka CAMP, is filled with great programming.

One of my favorite highlights of CAMP is meeting our fellows, from young women in the early years of our career to longtime JAWS members, making a transition to new ways of doing journalism.

We will again have 13 fellows this year, with one — the Diversity Fellowship — fully funded thanks to a grant from the Financial Times.

But we need help getting the rest of these women to Roanoke, Va., for CAMP, Oct. 28-30.

That’s where you come in.

We need your help in our annual crowdfunding for our fellows. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by July 31, and we can’t make it without you. So please give a little and share a lot.

I want to personally encourage you to give what you can.

And ask your friends and family to chip in, too. Did you donate to someone’s 5K fundraiser or charity dinner recently? Send them an email, telling them about the training, networking and camaraderie JAWS brings to you. Ask them to help spread the love.

Last year, nearly 200 donors gave from $10 to $1,000 to help us meet our goal.

So please go to our crowdfunding site, give what you can, and share with others.

Oh, and don’t forget to register for CAMP! We’ve got a great lineup that you won’t want to miss. You’ll get the best rate on registration (remember, it includes the fabulous eat programming as well as most of your meals!) through June 30!
