Gabriela Resto-Montero is a freelance journalist based in New York City. As a journalist, she’s interested in the inbetweeners, those Americans who, like her, are from both the countries where their parents were born and the one in which they grew up. Resto-Montero, like most reporters, is also drawn to stories of resistance, such as a recent piece detailing one public defender’s fight against a sexist dress code that prevented her from meeting with her clients.
