Angilee Shah

Angilee Shah is a journalist for PRI, based in Minneapolis. She started out as an editor for an online daily about Asia, then spent time abroad reporting for magazines and digital outlets from Singapore, Jakarta, Sri Lanka and in the region. She freelanced when she returned to the U.S. (LA Weekly, Far Eastern Economic Review, Mother Jones Online, Pacific Standard, TimeOut Singapore and Global Voices) and co-edited a book called “Chinese Characters” (UC Press, 2012).

She is currently the digital editor for Global Nation, covering immigration for PRI.org and on the daily broadcast PRI’s The World. Global Nation began almost four years ago and since day one, they’ve worked to make it a section of what they do that not only brings new authors into public media, but also challenges the notions of which stories are worthy of telling.
