Jaclyn Zubrzycki is a staff writer at Education Week. She previously taught school, gave music lessons, and worked in the National Audubon Society’s environmental education department. She came to journalism hoping to put empathy, curiosity, service, and education into practice–while also getting to write and learn, which is what she always wanted to do anyway.
When not trying to make sense of education policy or figure out how to fit the good quotes in, she plays and writes music (a world that could use its own JAWS), does yoga, concocts theories and future business ideas, and tries to spend as much time outside as possible. She studied English at Yale University and grew up in the Philadelphia area.
