Even though I grew up with my ears full of NPR, but it wasn’t until I reached high school and started paying attention to the media landscape that I realized how unique an entity it is. I knew when I went to college that I loved reading and writing, so I earned my bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in English with a creative writing concentration. I decided to pursue a career in journalism and recently graduated with my master’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado, Boulder. While in grad school, I started interning at KUNC, an NPR member station in Greeley, Colorado. I loved it, and stayed for another internship. I became the Weekend Edition Host in January of 2013 during my last semester at CU. In June I became KUNC’s All Things Considered Host. Though radio is my main medium, I engage in multimedia reporting everyday through our website. I am excited to be part of JAWS and encouraging other women in the pursuit of journalistic excellence.
